Evaluating Change at Alegent Health

Alegent Health (AH) conducted six large group interventions or â€Å"decision accelerators† (DA) to generate innovative strategies for the six clinical service areas. Researchers at USC’s Center for effective organizations contracted with AH to assess the impact of the interventions and help the organization learn how to leverage further change. The implementation feedback involved executive interviews and surveys from people who participated in the â€Å"review DAs†, thus reflecting on implementation progress and plan future changes and support a positive assessment of overall progress. People generally agreed that the implementation of the clinical strategies was going well. They were positive about social capital that had been created by the DAs, especially between managers and physicians, as well as evidence of culture change. Overall the majority of persons believed that the DAs were a great energizer for the organization, generated comprehensive strategies and catalyzed important changes. However the strengths of the DAs were mostly felt by top management while the perception of the DAs was weak in the middle of the organization. The absence of formal change management processes made important resource allocation decisions, trade-offs on technology, and coordination of quality processes across the systems more difficult. When the DA had more community participants, there were broader participation in the discussions, the debates were more intense, and the DA stayed on track. The results from the survey data revealed that the higher percentage of physicians the result was less comprehensive on the other hand when the DA had a high concentration of community participants, the vision was more comprehensive. Overall the DA affected a variety of changes in organization either directly or indirectly. The organization’s initial use of the DA process as a strategic visioning intervention persists in the minds of most organization members. DAs cannot do everything and complementary governance and implementation processes are necessary. Discus the strengths and weaknesses of the assessment. Once the intervention is done it should be evaluated to determine if it is producing the intended results. Feedback gives the desired result if the implementation of the interventions were correct. The strengths of the evaluation were collected through interviews and surveys whose results were positive. Almost everyone â€Å"buy into† the clinical strategies, the DAs were a great energizer hence a high level of commitment. Clarity was gained at the top management level and many physicians. The involvement of community participants resulted in a more comprehensive vision. While the weaknesses involve the organization’s ability to leverage the change, the data revealed a more complex set of issues, weak perception in the middle of the organization, the absence of formal change management and the outcomes of meeting with top management and physicians revealed a less comprehensive vision. Participants thought that the strategy should be more aggressive business oriented How could it have been improved? Their needed to be more internal support to leverage the change, hence people would not feel so overwhelmed by the changes. The changes needed to be programmable to facilitate a formal implementation of the intervention process. Their needed to be more sensing and calibration as it was evident that the community participants produce a more comprehensive vision. There also need to be more internal support to assist the middle of the organization. Reward allocation could be used to gain more support from the middle organization. How much confidence do you have in the lessons learned for this organization? I have a high level of confidence in the lessons from this case because the intervention characteristics were evident and the researchers made use of the institutionalization processes.

Is the Customer “Always Right”

Is The Customer â€Å"Always Right†? Abstract The customer is always right. It is the merchant’s wealth to safeguard the interests of customers. Many sellers think that some the customer is unreasonable and vulgar. Customer is always right for three reasons. First, the customer is always right is not the criterion of distinguished between right and wrong but is the criteria of the service work because the focus of the work is how to help customers make the right choices, and how to provide good service to customers. Next, understand the psychology of the customer can help employees easily cope with them.It is can make the seller better serving the customers and make customers to have a higher level of satisfaction. Finally, allowing guests to be picky, can improve the quality of companies and salespeople. The example of Apple and Nokia demonstrates that picky customers can make the seller better serving the customers and make customers to have a higher level of satisfac tion. The survival and development of enterprises rely on the trust and support of the customer. Like Zhang (as cited in Gluckman, the last paraphrase 2012) said â€Å"we will always be wrong†. So we will do better! Is The Customer â€Å"Always Right†? The customer is always right. Many people don’t think so, because when customers walk into a store, the clerk gives many different kinds of merchandise for them to choose from. However some customers will complain about the products. Some sellers think that some customers are picky and unreasonable. Nevertheless, no matter what kinds of the customers go into the store, regardless of the attitudes and tempers, they are â€Å"Gods†, since they bring large amount of profit for the business. Therefore, customer is always right and I have three reasons.First of all, the customer is always right† is the goal of service work, not distinguishing between right and wrong. Also, the slogan â€Å"the customer is always right† can be seen in many companies. However many people do not understand it or misunderstand the original meaning of this slogan. â€Å"The customer is always right† is not to judge the rights and wrongs of the matter. It means that companies to do their utmost best to create a good environment for the customers make guests to enjoy quality service, and to ensure the quests feel they have received good value no matter when and where. As Ray Miller (2012) stated, â€Å"It does not matter who is right and who is wrong†. For this sentence a customer may have his or her own ideas, and maybe these ideas are wrong or misguided. If pointed out that the customer is wrong, it will make things worse! Do not need to care about right and wrong with customers as a service industry. How to help customers make the right choices, and how to provide good service to customers that is the focus of service work. Secondly, understanding the psychology of the customer can hel p employees easily cope with them, but how do they cope when the customer is picky? When customers walk into a store, the clerk take out the merchandise give him the choice, more than half of customers are very critical. Frequently, customers don’t want to buy something maybe have three reasons: show off own appreciative, looking for an excuse to demand for lower prices and thinking it’s too expensive, as a reason of do not buy it. Understanding these reasons, employees can more easily seel products. Actually, a salesman usually has three purposes: he or she hopes the transaction is successful, hopes customers come again, and hopes the customers to introduce other customers to the business, because a friendly staff. Therefore, understanding customer psychology is a discipline. Serving customers as serving themselves, therefor they can provide a higher level of satisfaction. Finally, allowing guests to be picky, can improve the quality of companies and salespeople because many good advises from some customers. By contrast, Xiaoyao (2102) noted in â€Å"The difference between Apple and Nokia† that ten years ago, Nokia mobile phone sold was first place staler. With the advancement of technology people's requirements is also rising.Because of the discerning of customers, Apple innovate their products to satisfy a client's needs. However, Nokia did not think that this is important. So, Apple exceeded Nokia less than a decade. Even though some vulgar and unreasonable customer think they always right, a simple philosophy said by Zhang (Gluckman, 2012): â€Å"we always think we are wrong and only take the customer’s need as right† can impel company carry on realistic reason of social activities is society advance and power that develop. In a highly competitive market, customers have a wide right of freedom choice and to purchase the commodity. In fact, the customer also can fire anyone in the company, because they can spend money in oth er places that make customer like a boss. In my opinion, the customer is a consumer of goods and services and is the foundation source of enterprise. The survival and development of enterprises rely on the trust and support of the customer. Therefore, business should consider the issue from the customer’s point of view and it’s crucial to put customer’s satisfaction and their interests at first stage. Following this standard will improve sales and our profits. In other words, there would be no profit if on customers bought products. Hence, taking care of the interests of the guests is to take care of the business own interests. As Zhang (Gluckman, 2012) said â€Å"we will always be wrong†. So we will do better! Nietzsche and The Meaningful Life Philosophy Essay

Nietzsche and The Meaningful Life Philosophy - Essay Example During the industrial revolution, the Western world engendered the new problem of individual existence in the world. This was based on the absurdity and alienation as portrayed in the sufferings of Etienne and Gervaise. People are still disturbed by the question of reasons of living and to find solutions on reasons of suffering. According to Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher meaning of human suffering lies on ‘styling’ through ‘becoming’. He believes that people suffer because they are under a delusion that there exists inherent meaning in themselves and the world. He believes that life is based on contingency and only individuals can instil meanings to their lives. He disagrees with persons following a ‘herd’ and a standard moral conduct. In a pursuit to find meaning in life, one must be courageous and avoid indoctrination of social morals and values. Individuals should then go out to decide on what they want to become because there are no societal intrinsic morals that are permanently embedded in us.( Gravil, 72). Nietzsche in understanding this creates a theoretical argument called ‘eternal recurrence’. This is where individuals live there life in an exact manner over and over again. Having such life demands aesthetic, ones desire harmony and experiences. Through this concept, our life is nothingness and it’s our responsibility to assert meaning to it. For styling to take place, everyone must be contended and build their lives from that. He holds that those who are dissatisfied with life will never find happiness as they will always resent who they are. Nietzsche also proposes the argument that God is dead in his book ‘The Gay Science’. He believes that God remains dead and humans have killed him and no longer aides the survival of species instead he kills them. Nietzsche believes that he is the first to have discovered the death of God. He states that the idea of God lost its fu ll power and creative force.

The Role of efforts in college Course Grades Essay

The Role of efforts in college Course Grades - Essay Example Therefore, college grades should be based solely on the efforts of students. One mechanism all lecturers should be executing is triangulating evaluation and assessment. This denotes that learners are assessed grounded on Observation, Conversation, and Product. As considerably as possible, teachers should get a balanced assessment of students. In a standard world, where teachers have time to expend teaching and conversing with learners, grades must be established via how appropriately the learner can intelligently debate the ideas and retort to others’ interpretations. Furthermore, the grades must be based on how justifiably the learner can create and compose a coherent case linked to the facts; usually verified by essay, plus how acquainted the learner is with the basic authentic information necessitated by the topic, usually tried by exam (Frisbie, 23). A discrepancy should be crafted between modules that a teacher evaluates and elements that are utilized to establish course grades. Factors and variables that contribute to establishing course grades must reflect every students proficiency within the course subject. The elements of a grade must be educationally oriented; they ought not to be means of punishment or honors for pleasant traits or "good" outlooks. A learner who attains an "A" within a course must have a strong understanding of the knowledge and skills taught within that course. If a student were merely marginal educationally but very congenial and industrious, an "A" score would be misinforming and would be a knock-back to the incentive of the brilliant students within the program. Lecturers can provide feedback to learners on many traits, but only educational performance, efforts and accomplishments components must be used in determination of course grades (Frisbie, 24). However, it would be sensible for learners to be capable to attain this requirement by participating in classroom debates or

Sell an extensive collection of products 2. Offer products and service in a manner that give 100% satisfaction to the customer s 3. Be an dynamic part of the society 4. Promote input from customers The E-Business Model The business model used by the company is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing (Lindahl & Rozek, p. 76, 2010) has been a very successful business model and there are many reasons for this. One does not have to have the personal product; there are little funds needed for getting started, and the vendor takes care of all the issues. Another positive part of affiliate marketing is that there are a lot of products and services you can pick from market.  For any interest, passion, or area in which someone has knowledge, there are products and services he can advertise, which makes it more appealing (Lindahl & Rozek, p. 109, 2010).  The first step company should take is to choose a suitable niche. By choosing a niche, it will be much convenient to write articles, web pages, blog posts, as well as other content essential to endorse the product. Therefore, in general it makes a great internet business model. The difficulty is that, like some other online business, it does need a large amount of time as well as dedication to make a start. However, once up and running the attempt is worth it. Nonetheless, as with any business, there is no such option of ‘getting rich quickly’. You are required to put in the time as well as effort in order to start getting benefits (Lindahl & Rozek, p. 76, 2010). Operational Issues Two significant chores facing risk managers are decisions regarding the assessment of loss and risk financing. In the quantification of risk or financial impact, sophisticated risk models can support if the correct efforts, as well as indicators are provided. Loss as well as denial of service will call for a business impact analysis in addition to the development of a network stability plan to correctly measure the potential for financial loss and lessen the severity of such a loss. Other risks will need significant evaluation if public records asso ciated to cybercrime and cyber attacks has been mainly subjective or based on unknown surveys. In addition, estimations of possible losses associated to Internet-based technologies must take into consideration the developing and indecisive universal legal and regulatory setting. Risk evaluations based only on direct revenues from

The Calculation of the multilateral trade-weighted annual U.S. dollar exchange rates (USD per unit of foreign currency) with respect to four major trading partners of the United States: Canada, Mexico, China, and Germany, from 2007 (normal time) to 2013 (not so normal time) involves aggregation that take the following form: (Please note that weights are the volumes of US trade (exports + imports) with each trading partners). The weights for the j currencies included in the TWI are then calculated by re-scaling the trade shares so that they sum to 100. The inverse of the share of trade accounted for by the currencies included in the TWI basket, which make up at least 90 per cent of U.S’s total merchandise and services two-way trade. c. Calculate the real value of multilateral trade-weighted monthly average U.S. dollar exchange rates (use CPI of each nation to convert nominal exchange rate to real exchange rate. Index the real values of multilateral trade-weighted exchange rates (2007 = 100). d. With help of excel make two line graphs of the multilateral trade weighted-average monthly exchange rates (the nominal and the real). Write a short essay (about 100 words) on the performance of trade-weighted U.S. dollar exchange rates and its possible effects on U.S. trade with major trading partners. The exchange rate plays an important role in the tradable sector of the U.S. economy since movements in the exchange rate affect both the demand and supply of export and imports. The rise and fall of the exchange rate of the major trading partners of the U.S. is therefore an important point to the analysis of the U.S. economy. The unstable foreign currency value of the dollar over the past years and the increase in the U.S. price inflation recently have caused rippled pressure and concerns on the depreciating value of the U.S. dollar. Original Cases Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Original Cases - Research Paper Example One such issue became prominent in 2010, when the government of Singapore made changes in their policies related to the employment of foreign people. The government eased regulations on hiring foreign workers in order to ensure local people get the opportunity to fill up the vacancies. However, before 2010, the government of Singapore was very much enthusiastic in recruiting foreign employees. This created a number of issues within the country regarding the approach of the government to hiring people. Nevertheless, the policy change brought gaiety and cheer among the local people of Singapore (â€Å"Eight Reasons†). This case will, however, focus on the scenario of the UAE, where the government relies on the foreign talents to hold vital positions of the organizations. Animal Farm And A Utopian Society Essay Example for Free

Animal Farm And A Utopian Society Essay Based on George Orwells Animal Farm a utopian society can not be achieved. A perfect world is impossible to achieve because you will always get someone who takes charge and overrules the people. In the book the animals successfully rebel from the owner of the farm, Mr. Jones. After the rebellion as a whole the animals set up some rules and commandments. At this point the animals feel that they have created a utopia, or a perfect world. They feel they can work hard for a while and then be rewarded with retirement. Eventually there becomes a superior group of animals that convince the rest of the animals that they are of higher intelligence. With this in mind they then told them that the elite group, the pigs, deserved more of the delicacies such as milk and apples. The pigs declared that these foods increased their abilities to do the brain work. The pigs also take over the house and begin to adopt many of the evil habits of man. In reality the pigs forced the other animals in to doing all of the manual labor so that they could reap the benefits solely for themselves. This is the sole reason that a utopian society can not be achieved. The pigs, or higher forms of government can only hold the respect of the people for so long until they eventually go back to the old ways, and the utopia is demolished.

Mt First Lovely Dog English Literature Essay

Mt First Lovely Dog English Literature Essay My father likes animals very much that he kept them since I was young. He had dogs. At that time, I was too young that I was afraid of them. I was small child and they were big monsters. So I didnt like them. But, my father tried to make me become familiar with them. So he used to gave me chances to touch the little baby dog. He brought the baby to me every night for 5~6 minutes. The Big dog was scared, but the little baby was very cute. However, One day, one accident happened to me. It was about noon. There was nobody but only me in my house because my parents went to work. It was nice day until the BIG my fathers dog appeared. The leash of her was cut! Although I knew that I shouldnt run away in front of dogs, but I was very shocked and frightened that I ran away. Surely she ran after me. But she ran just cause I ran. However I misunderstood she was about to bite me. I was too embarrassed that I fell down. The dog just passed me and disappeared. At that time, I was very shocked that I thought I had got bitten by her. And really there was a scar on my arm! But it was scare which is made by felling down to the ground. I could recognize it a few days ago. After that incident, I hated dog very much until my family moved to here. My father likes mother nature very much that we moved to country side when I was 8 years old. Here is really deep in the mountain that there is a few houses. So it is nice to keep animals. Then my father started to kept dogs again. At first, my father brought a little dog that I loved her. As Yeappi(the dogs name) became bigger and bigger, automatically I dont hate big dogs anymore. Every evenings, my father and me used to walked around with her. She liked run very much. And she was a good mother. When she raised her kids, she totally devoted herself. When she took care of her babies, they were the first important things to her. Guarding her babies was sure thing to her. If her baby excreted dongs, she ate it all to make it clean. And to delete the smell of baby from their enemy. I was moved to saw that. Also if it was very cold day, she dug the hole and moved her baby to there to make them warm. However she was also aggressive like other wild beasts. I loved rabbit that Once I had kept rabbit. When he was a little rabbit, I could had him in my room. But as he grew up, it became hard to. So my father decided to kept him next to Yeappis home. My father and I thought that it is very good idea. But as soon as Yeappi saw my rabbit, she changed wildly. She tried to kill him!! We were shocked and my father saved rabbit very quickly. But it was late. Already one of ears of rabbit was cut. Sadly, my rabbit had gone after 7days. At that time, I hated and blamed Yeappi for long times. But she wasnt aggressive to me that as time goes by I could forget that happening. By the way, My father isnt get along with a guy of neighbor. He is really ignoble. He tried to appeal his anger to not only my family but also Yeappi! He blamed and shouted to Yeappi whenever he passed her. Just because she was barking! Even he spitted to poor Yeappi!!! One night, I couldnt stand it anymore. It was almost midnight. That night, she barked loudly. So he came to Yeappi, threatened her with long stick with shouting. I got angry that I got off with my mom and had a fought with him. I said to him It is not a dog fault but our fault. Then you should visited my family, not dog. And you used to shouted to my dog with very foul words! How would you like somebody blamed you, If you were a dog? Surely you would hate him and bark at him, isnt you? Also Your method is wrong! You could solve this problem with us not dog! And you are very rude! Its almost midnight. Its too late, dont you know? You could visit us next morning! And then, I wanted to fought with him more, but my mom ma de me returned to home. And next morning, he made a trouble. Finally he destroyed Yeappis house! Oh my god. I hate that guy very much. He let off his anger to dog! Yeappi couldnt express her bad emotion except for barking. How could do that such a poor dog! I cant understand him and I dont want to understand him either!! Sadly, my father decided to let Yeappi go. I didnt want to do that, but I thought it is torture to Yeappi. So I agreed with him. Since then, I couldnt contact to her. I am really sorry to her. Author: GA-YUN 5B KO Posted Date: November 21, 2010 5:38 AM Last Modified Date: November 21, 2010 5:45 AM Status: Published Overall rating:   I have never raised cat, dog, rabbit, hamster and so on because my family, including me, do not like animals. I do not like animals. Frankly speaking, I hate animals. From little animals to an animal of huge size, I hate animals. Of course, I like to see cute puppy or lovely cat but it is just a eye candy. I feel repulsion toward animals. There are many reasons that I do not like animals. First reason that I do not like animals is fear. I am afraid of being bitten by animals. Dog, cat, rabbit, hamster and so on have sharp teeth. They have menacing teeth. Especially, big dog has huge jawbone and large teeth. It is very scary to look. Because of this, I do not want to go near them. Second reason that I do not like animals is hair. I do not like touch animals that have hair. It is terrible that I touch them or they touch me. It feels weird and odd. Also, when they move, their hairs are falling out. The hairs can trigger allergic reactions such as coughing and wheezing. Therefore no matter how cute an animal looks, I hardly like to stroke, pet and touch. Third reason that I do not like animals is dirt. Of course, family pets are clean but I think that animals that wander the streets are very dirty. They live streets so they are certainly filthy. Animals that wander the streets can not wash their bodies so they have the possibility that they have diseases. Also animals that wander the streets may have diseases that can transmit people. For example, people can be infected with rabies. We have to be careful of it. Because of this, I do not want to go near them. Fourth reason that I do not like animals is noise. Animals are very noisy. Animals make a noisy sound. Typical noisy animals are dog and cat. When dogs bark at a person, it is very noisy. And the sound can frighten a person to death. Furthermore, cats mew. Around the apartment building that I live in now, there are many cats. Every nights, they mew as a group. Cats sound like a baby crying. It is very horrible sound. Last reason that I do not like animals is my experience with animals. When I was young, my grandmother raised a dog. One day, the dog gave birth to two pups. The two puppies were very cute and lovely. Because I was young, I was bold. So I tried to bring the two puppies from their mother with no definite idea. Suddenly the mother dog attacked me to regain her babies. I was greatly surprised and I screamed loud. It was fortunate that I was not hurt but I was very shocked by her sudden action. From that day, I took a strong dislike to stroke, pet and touch animals. I became afraid of animals. That experience made me dislike animals. For these reasons, I do not like animals. Of course, I like to see cute puppy, lovely cat, little hamster and so on, but I do not want to touch them. I just want to see them. I do not want to go near animals. Author: HUI-YUN 5B LEE Posted Date: November 21, 2010 9:26 AM Last Modified Date: November 25, 2010 12:18 AM Status: Published Overall rating:   Animals are our friends! I like animals. Sometimes I find some animals at unexpected places and I get smiled. For example, I met rabbits accidently which were feeding on grass when I was exercising at Sara-bong. And when I climbed the Hala mountain, I heard dim sounds like something is passing. Soon I find a beautiful roe which was looking at me curiously. Also we can easily happen to meet dogs which help a man who is visually handicapped when crossing the street. In addition to these animals, there are various species of animals and our ecosystem consists of them.     However these animals are suffering from humans selfishness. Environmental disruption causes large temperature changes and ecological adaption. As results of them, many animals are threatened with extinction. Besides, indiscriminate poaching has placed many animal species in danger of extinction, too. For example, poachers capture many whales cruelly to commercial exploitation. And some people hunt animals like raccoons, rabbits, tigers or so,  then skin them and made a fur coat in the name of fashion. Crocodile is used for many accessories such as handbags, fashion belts and purses. Even dog meat is very popular and healthy food for some Koreans. Last year, I have watched a documentary called Tears of the Amazon. According to that,  Ã‚  some people in the Amazon also ruthlessly capture unique animals in Amazon and sell them off for a living and it made some species to disappear. We should stop being cruel to animals, because animals are on an equal footing with human being. Human has no right to determine other animals existence. Animals are our friends. We can easily understand it by imaging our selves in animals position. To build this kind of view of world, it is good for us to remind a Indian chiefs letter. In 1850, the Indian chief  wrote letters  to white mans who force Indian to yield possession of their land. How dare you buy and sell sky and land? We think it is very odd. We cant own sacred sky and twinkling water, how dare we sell it? All things of this land are sacred. We are the part of the land and land is part of us. Flowers are our sisters. And deer, horses, eagles are our brothers. A rocky mountain, wild flowers, pony and human are family. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦We thought about your proposal to sell our land.  Ã‚  We  want to suggest  some conditions to you.  I have seen a lot of rotten water buffaloes which white people shoot and throw away. You have to serve animals in this land as your brothers. What is human being in the world without animals? If all animals are gone, human will die because of loneliness. All creations are related, so the thing which happened to animal can happen to human, too. Although we sell this land to you, love this as the way w e love it. Please protect and love this land sincerely for your sons and grandsons. As the Indian chief said, animals are our precious companion. They are precious just the way they are. They live not for human  but  for  themselves.  So we should protect them from our selfishness. We can take up a positive action  by starting from a little things. For example i can protect bird nest which is located near my balcony. Because protecting animals habitat is beginning of the love. And we can sometimes try some vegetarian diet while reminding of animals right to live. If we perform these little but important works, the relation between human and the other animals will be improved and go meaningful. I hope more animals to have their stable habitat and get a right to live their own life. For that, humans support is essential. You are a dog. And Im human. But that was not important. You were same as my family. Although you are no longer with me, Im still miss you. So I want to recollect memory with you through this forum. Do you remember when we met for the first time? Im eight years old that time. And you were just one months old small puppy. My family began to talk about your name. Finally we choose your name. It was Ban-di! It means a firefly in Korean. Because you have shiny golden hair we choose that name. I was excited because I lived you. But you were whining all night. It was because you were scared. I felt sorry for you. So I brought you to my room secretly. When I petted your fur, you went to sleep peacefully. After you went to sleep, I went to sleep near you, too. Although I was scolded by my parents (my parents doesnt allow to raise dog in the house because I have asthma), I was really happy because you could sleep peacefully. We have become close after the day. Even though we were different species, I felt you understood my feeling. When I was happy, you were glad with me. And when I was sad, you shared my sorrow. When I was crying, you come to my side quitely. Then you started lick my hands until I stop crying. It was a great consolation to me. I still miss your comfort when I get depressed. You were a very thoughtful dog. But you were also jealousy. I brought up you and other dog Buk at the same time. One day Buk gave birth to puppies. Puppies were so cute. So my familys attention was on newborn puppies. Than you became sulky. So you went up on the roof and never came down expect meal time. By than, I understood your mind. So I gave much attention to you. Only then you came down to the ground. Even now Im funny at the thought of it. It was jealousy but very cute behavior. Even though I brought up you, I was afraid of dogs which are not my pet. One day I met a strange dog on the way home from school. It was not far from my house. But I couldnt move because I was so frightened. I just screamed. Just at that moment you appeared! Although you were smaller than a strange dog, you barked fiercely. The dog ran away fortunately. You saved my life! Im so grateful to you. Now I write about our last day. It was a rainy day. Just as I was leaving home, you come to my side slowly. And you looked up at me. I told you to enter your house in fear of you got soaked in the rain. But you didnt enter your house. Instead, you looked up at me for a long time. Although your behavior was strange, I went to school so that I wouldnt be late. I received a text message from my father that day. The text messages runs thus. Ban-di went to heaven. Please pray for Ban-di. I burst into tears. I remembered your eyes that morning. I felt so sad I couldnt stop crying. It was for the first time that I lost my love ones. I cried my eyes out. So I took an early leave from school and went home. And I eventually absent from school next day. There were so many memories that we made together the tears didnt stop running. Ban-di. How is everything with you in heaven? I still miss you so much. I could never put into words how much I miss you. Even though we lived together almost ten years, it seems to take more than ten years to forget you. No. I cant never forget you. We wont live together any more, I will cherish every moment we have been together. Ban-di! Please take care in haven. I love you so much! from your unforgettable family, Ji-hae. And I also like to go aquarium and see many kinds of fish or to watch a dolphin show. But I cant keep animals. Because I cannot touch or go near animals, even small. And Im afraid of animals like dogs, chickens, ducks, and so on. Im particularly scared to go near dogs. There was experience about this. When I went my aunts house during Chu-seok, there was a big dog. A dog was kept on a lead. So I tried to go near the dog with my cousin. But I failed because of dogs barking. And there are another experience about dogs. In last summer, I went my friends house to play with her. But there were two dogs, too. And because my friend knew that Im very scared of dogs, she saved me from dogs. So I could enter her home safely. But the problem occurred when I came home. When I came out from her house, like before, she tried to save me from her dogs. But she failed and two dogs surrounded me. And I was too fearful because two dogs reached my legs. In the end, I cried. Like these, Im very scared of dogs. So I hope that Im not scared and I can touch dogs someday. Because Im scared of dogs, not dislike or hate.  And because of fear of animals,  I was indifferent to animals and I dont like chat about animals. By the way, these days I take more interest in animals. After I watched two articles through internet about animal abuse, I changed my mind. One is The death of Maltese, and the other is The Cat, Eun-bi incident. First, The death of Maltese was that after Maltese dog was born, it breed for ten years, because of his owner for making money. Because the owner forced him to breed, Maltese eventually become ill terribly. And the owner left him alone, Maltese was died in the end. And The Cat, Eun-bi incident was similar the story of Maltese. In one efficiency apartment, a woman in twenties hit her cat severely and throw it outside the window. I was very shocked by reading them. And I also feel terrible after watching them. Frankly speaking, I was very angry that people act that. The owner of Maltese was very selfish and greedy. Also it was wrong act that Eun-bis owner teased the cat. Thinking, it is natural that we should not do such acts. And such conducts are unacceptable. But whats the idea of the such acts and why do that? I saw one comment in article. People are the most important than any others. So what is the problem? This comment makes me angry and I felt ashamed as a person. And it does not make sense. Because animals have the rights and it is not important thing that who is more important. And animals are living things, not our toys. And after seeing two articles, I thought carefully about animals rights. I think that animals have the rights. I read in a book that in Korea, differently other nations, there are some people that kill pets or wild animals mercilessly. Nevertheless these people werent punished or were punished lightly for these acts. So some people have no regard for mistreating animals. Therefore we need to prepare bills and protect animals from animal cruelty. And I wish that animal abuse no more occur. Along with this I hope that Im not scared and I can touch animals as soon as possible. Tags:   None Reply Quote Mark as Read Thread: My lovely pet Pump. Post: My lovely pet Pump. So I wanted to raise animal. But my parents did not like animals. Therefore they refused my request. When I saw dogs and cats, always I wanted to pat dogs and cats. Meanwhile I became a second year in middle school. I went to my friend house, that time I saw a animal. This animal was very cute and tiny. This animal seemed like mouse. My friend introduced her pet. This animal is included species of hamster. Since that time, I dreamed about raising hamster all day. So I pressed my parents. But they refused my request. When I went to home after school, I tried to persuade my parents every day. After all my parents permitted my request. My parents suggested some rules. First I raised hamster and cleaned hamster`s fur. Second I did not bother hamster. Final I paid entire cost about hamster. So I had saved pocket money for a few months. And I brought a hamster. I called my pet Pump. Only I saw the Pump that I felt happy. I had trouble to take care of my pet because I raised pet first and I did not understand what my pet wants. One day I did not know that my pet was hurt. A few days later my hamster walked lame. I was surprised and shocked. Right now I took my hamster to animal hospital. Veterinarian said If this hamster not treated, it walk lame hamster`s whole life. I was so sorry. While we spent a year, we had a happy times. One day, when I went to home after school, I had a strange sensation. So I wanted to go home as fast as I could. When I arrived home, I saw the hamster. The hamster was lying on the bottom. I thought that Pump was sleeping. But Pump groaned with pain. I was embarrassed. I did not know that what I have to do. I took my hamster to animal hospital as fast as I could. Veterinarian said Hamster is tiny and weakly animal. So hamster is susceptible to colds. If hamster catch a cold, hamster can die. I am not sure that this hamster treat completely. I received drug and took my hamster to home. I kept my hamster drugged. And I waited that Pump would get the better of sickness.Suddenly Pump groaned with pain again. Anything to took the pain away from my hamster. Just I could pray for my hamster. But the pray did not work well. My lovely pet died. I cried all day and I could not eat anything. People said Forget the hamster. And you buy any other hams ter. I did not agree their opinion. My pet pump is not the same other hamsters. We spent precious time had delightful memories. I was changed because of this happening. Frankly speaking I do not understand animal rights before I raise my pet. Now I think that animals also have valuable life as people. Sometimes, people think that people have power and strong than animals. So they ignore animal`s right and bully the weak animals. I think that this thought is very wrong. If I did not raised my pet, I do not think animal`s rights. Sometimes I think Pump. Until I miss Pump. Once in a while I think that I want to raise pet. But when Pump died, I was in so much pain and I was so sad. If I raise pet again, Sometime I will see death of pet. Therefore I am little scared. I think that I can not raise any other animal. One is scare. The other is pity.     First, Im scared of animals. Especially, dogs. I dont know why Im scared of them. When I was 7 years old, I had been walking along the street nearby my house. At that time, I heard tinkling of a bell. I thought that maybe this sound is bell of dog collar. After a while, I could see a dog. That dog was skinny and had sharp eyes. I was very scared. Because there were just I and dog on the narrow path. So unconsciously I started to run. Then, a dog also started to chase me. I ran fast desperately, as fast as I could. But the dogs speed was very fast. So I was almost bitten by that dog. I barely get out dog by hiding in a neighbors house.     Also, Im scared of cats. Because cats have dreadful eyes. So I cant stare at cats for a long time. And cats are very fast. So cat suddenly appear and disappear in my sight. Besides, cat did not avoid human these days while cat in last days were scared of human and avoided us. When I see picture or TV scene of animal, I say, Oh, what a cute! That animal is very pretty. But if I really meet animal, I feel scary. And my best friend have a pet dog. That dogs name is BOM. BOM is little big but he is very cute. He wag his tail when my friend come back home. That behavior is lovely. So, sometimes I want to have a pet. Therefore I decided to have a pet, hedgehog. I thought that hedgehog is small, cute, pretty and charming. I collected many information about hedgehog like picture, food, lifespan and way to keep them. I eagerly anticipated hedgehog. But when I saw really hedgehog, I was sad. They were very cute and charming as expected. But I was scared of them. So I failed to have a hedgehog.   Second, I feel pity for animals. Especially, abandoned dogs in street and animals that living in zoo. People irresponsibly abandon their pets. So abandoned pets wander around street. They cant bath and eat any food. So they get dirty, have diseases and finally they die. And I feel pity for animals that living in zoo. When I was 10 years old, I went to the zoo for the first time. At that time, I was very excited and I think that animals were cute. But I went to the zoo in middle school student, I wasnt excited. Because animals of zoo have living in cage. So they cant have freedom. And they have hard training for visitor. I feel pity for them.   In 4 years ago, I went to the Thailand. In there, I rode a big elephant on back of elephant. And trainer rode on neck of elephant. Riding elephant was very exciting. But I saw the trainer have a hook and threatened to elephant for prevent people can hurt by elephant running fast or stand up. At that moment, I felt very sad and angry to trainer.   Still, Im scared of animals. But I think human and animals are partners that living together. So I want to try to get rid of my fear to animals. And I hope that trainer can realize their behavior like threatening to elephants is terrible. Besides, I really want pet owners to keep their pets to the end and raise them by loving heart. Because I dont want to see abandoned pets anymore. Finally, I wish have a lovely pet. I will challenge to raise a pet. Tags:   None Reply Quote Mark as Read Thread: change!!!!! Post: change!!!!! Teachers Shape Lives Through Words and Actions Essay -- Philosophy of

Teachers Shape Lives Through Words and Actions There was a teacher who paddled so hard that a child was bruised, a teacher who yelled so much that a child was broken, and a teacher who criticized so much that a child was hopeless. But, there was a teacher who loved so truthfully that a child smiled, and learned, and dreamed, and grew. Teachers shape lives. And the way a teacher understands, instructs, and treats a student determines the shape of that life. This is a great responsibility that must be entered into with patience and love. This educational philosophy can be described through a discussion of the nature of students, the nature of knowledge, the purpose of public education, methodology, and curriculum. There is much to be considered because the life of a child is priceless. First, let us look at the nature of students. Students are human beings, just like the rest of the world, searching for guidance, care, and acceptance. They may be born innocent as Rousseau believes, but by the time they come to school, they’ve been home with parents/guardians for years. Therefore, students are coming to school with many different characteristics and behaviors learned from home. Children are good imitators and their nature can be changed by the influences of the teacher and environment, as Rousseau demonstrated. Since a common denominator here is the fact that we are all humans, teachers need only to look inside themselves to understand the basic nature of the student and how that individual can be reached. Since humans are unique in many ways, the nature of knowledge is relative. Some people are born with more intelligence than others, and some have been encourag... ...o science, social studies, history, art, and music. Health and physical wellness should also begin at an early age in order to establish healthy choices for life. The subjects should be interrelated and compelling to the students by applying them to their everyday lives and interests, as pointed out by Pragmatist, George Herbert Meade. Teachers shape lives through words and actions. It is a great responsibility to show guidance, care, and acceptance to all children and to inspire them to become the best that they can be. This philosophy has been discussed in the areas of the nature of students, the nature of knowledge, the purpose of public education, methodology, and curriculum. In order to help a child, I must teach, and be teachable. I must speak and listen. I must look into their eyes and understand. They must look into mine and know truth.

The Battle Between Heart and Conscience in Mark Twains Huckleberry Fin

The Battle Between Heart and Conscience in Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Society can have a huge impact on an individual's moral growth. Sometimes the impact is positive but other times the learned habits and set morals of society have a negative effect. In Mark Twain's novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the main character, Huck, struggles with what society teaches him and with what he knows to be good and true. During different conflicts concerning either the king and duke, various women or Jim, Huck's sound heart wins the battle over his conscience, which the reader knows to be ill-formed. Right from the first time Huck hears the story of the king and duke's amazing pasts Huck knows, "these liars warn't no kings nor dukes at all" (Twain 166). However, Huck also does not want to make any trouble so he goes along with the lie. Society may have taught Huck's conscience that lying is wrong but in this case the truth would have caused unnecessary danger and havoc. Another time that Huck sees right through the king and duke, is during the Wilks' inheritance situa...

Constructing Fantasy in Hitchcocks Vertigo Essay -- Alfred Hitchcock

Constructing Fantasy in Hitchcock's Vertigo The amount of critical analysis surrounding Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo is itself dizzying, but as the film has recently been restored, it seems appropriate to provide it with a fresh critical reading. The purpose of this paper then, is to draw this film out of the past with a reading that offers not only a new way of understanding it, but a close look at the culture that produced it. Specifically, Vertigo offers its most exciting ideas when contextualized in a culture of consumerism. Consumerism shaped the film, and also shapes the way we view it. The desire of the consumer is the driving force behind not only our economy, but our mode of seeing the world, and seeing films. As consumers, we are always looking for, and looking at, new commodities, especially clothing. We gaze at clothing in shop windows. We purchase it and wear it, making it visible to others. Indeed, the desire to buy clothing is linked closely to our desire to show it off. We shop in a visual economy, a visual culture of consumption. To understand this culture it is important to understand the historical figure of the flà ¢neur. The flà ¢neur is a wandering male consumer of images who is, and was, particularly in the nineteenth century, the visual and economic agent at the center of consumer culture. He is also at the center of Vertigo, personified in the main character, Scotty. The flà ¢neur is an inveterate urban wanderer and voyeur who is at home in the public spaces. In the words of Baudelaire, "for the perfect flà ¢neur, for the passionate spectator, it is an immense joy to set up house in the heart of the multitude, amid the ebb and flow of movement" (qtd. in Brand 5). Walter Benjamin, in his work on the... ...lso of women displayed in windows. 3 Sometimes coincidence aids criticism. Kim Novak was, according to Hitchcock, quite proud of the fact that she didn't wear a bra during the filming of Vertigo (Truffaut 248). Works Cited Brand, Dana. Peace Versus War Essay

A war cannot achieve what peace can. The forces of peace can rule over ignorance and superstition, over illiteracy and immorality, over disease and physical suffering, over poverty and governmental oppression. The conquests of peace are non violent and bloodless. They cause no grief to humanity and do not damage life or property. War causes streams of blood and untold havoc. Only the victories of peace leave no maimed limbs or mutilated bodies, no ruined cities or scorched fields. Even a superficial glance at the course of the two world wars will tell us that their victories were gained at an incalculable cost. The triumph of the First World War proved to be of a short duration. The victory itself sowed, in fact, the seeds of the Second World War. Who knows that the victory of World War- II may also prove to be of an equally short duration and a third global war may even now be in the offing. The victories of Peace, however, are everlasting. They do not rankle in the mind of any nation and their fruits are enjoyed by all people. The victorious in war exploits the conquered people. The example is the occupation of Germany and Japan by the forces of the allied countries. If the axis powers had won the war, they would have exploited the Allies in the same, if not in a worse way. Thus, victory in war is gained at a heavy cost of life, and also implies the annexation and enslavement of many territories and the exploitation of many more. The victories of peace, on the contrary, involve no butchery of human beings and are, besides, of value to the entire world. Only peace social reforms. During war men are too busy in militaristic activities to think of social improvement. It is only during peace that a literacy campaign can be started, that the standard of living of the masses can be raised, that better houses can be built for the poor, that more schools and colleges can be opened, that prisons can be reformed, that crime can be effectively checked. Even the proper working of democracy itself is possible only in times of peace. There can be no elections, no government of the people when a country is in the throes of war. Peace promotes democracy. In short, it is during peace that a general improvement is possible in cleanliness and decency, in refinement and taste, in habits and morals, in manners and speech. In peace, too, lies the opportunity for sports, for horse-racing, skiing, tennis, cricket, football and hockey tournaments and athletic contests of all kinds. It is often said in favour of war that it brings out the best in man by creating opportunities for human beings to display their great powers of endurance, their courage, their capacity for self- sacrifice, their patriotism. This is true enough. In times of peace, people do tend to become lethargic and indolent. Too much ease begets idleness and an indifference to work. But to applaud war because it stimulates men into activity would really be preposterous. So grim are the horrors of war and so devastating its effects that no defence of it on any ground whatsoever is possible.

Ray Bradbury’s Predictions in Fahrenheit 451 Essay

As we all know, Ray Bradbury, Author of Fahrenheit 451, made many predictions as to what this day and age would be like. He was right in many cases including speed, entertainment, and the mindlessness of people. He predicted that nobody would speak more than a couple of words at a time to a certain person. That makes the people seem mindless because they don’t talk or ask questions. Ray also predicted that people would drive by places so fast that the y don’t even know what they passed. That has not quite happened in out tome yet, but I believe it is coming. One of the final things that Bradbury talks about in his book is entertainment, slowly but surely, people are starting to stay indoors and do such activities so they don’t have to go outside. Being obsessed with entertainment, which is probably the most obvious aspect of this book, is very important in our world and Montag’s made up society. The characters rarely have friends, and if they do, they just go over each other’s houses to watch television. Bradbury makes this clear when Mildred says to Montag, â€Å"I went to Helen’s last night† (50). He replies by saying, â€Å"Couldn’t you get the shows in your own parlor† (50). She says, â€Å"Sure, but it’s nice visiting† (50). In that statement she clarifies that the only reason she goes over friend’s houses is to watch television, not to talk, eat, or go outside and have a good time. An example of someone who is not obsessed with entertainment is Clarisse, the 17 year old girl who is â€Å"different† from everyone else because she enjoyed life. She enjoyed smelling flowers, walking in the rain, and getting into deep conversations with people. Clarisse thinks that all people ever do is watch the â€Å"Parlor Walls,† go to the races, and amusement parks. Our society is turning out to be like that, we have to stop it before it’s too late. A couple of years ago, family used to go to amusement parks as a treat every once in a while, now a days we have people that go almost every other day. Speed plays a very large role in the book Fahrenheit 451. People in their society were completely obsessed with speed; they increased the size of billboards to two hundred feet long so that the advertisement would last as the people rushed by it. Clarisse says, â€Å"My uncle drove slowly on a highway once; He drove forty miles an hour and they jailed him for two days† (9).  Clarisse also says that if you showed a truck driver a green blur, he will tell you that it’s grass. Second, if you show a truck driver and pink blur, he will tell you that it is a rose garden. Third, if you show a truck driver a white blur, he will say that it is a house. Finally, if you show a truck driver a brown blur, he will tell you that it is a cow. Towards the end of the book, Clarisse was suspected to have been hit by a speeding car and killed. That proves that people don’t slow down for anything and speed is a major part in Montag’s world. In our society, people are starting to get more and more speeding tickets. The police are really cracking down on people going over the speed limit. People are constantly on the move, going fast to get more done. People are now making microwavable dinners, eating on the run, and many are resorting to eating fast food. They know that it is not good for you but they eat it anyway because it is fast, and it keeps them going at the pace, they want to keep their lives going at. Cars these days are getting faster and faster, you pay a little bit more and get a BMW or a Porsche, just to keep up the speed that all of us think we have to stay at. People in both Montag’s society and our society today are very mindless. In Montag’s society, all people do is watching the â€Å"parlor walls.† You are considered odd or weird if you enjoy talking, asking questions, or enjoying things in nature. Clarisse if one of those people that Montag’s society considers to be odd. She loves to ask questions and get into deep conversations with people; in fact her whole family is like that. Even when Montag first meets her, he is very amazed by how â€Å"weird† she is. Guy looks at Clarisse and laughs when she tells him that fireman actually used to stop fires that started by accident. She asks him if he ever reads any of the books that he is told to burn. He turns to her and yells, â€Å"That’s against the law! (8)† That is the point at which Guy really starts to wonder about books and why they are burning them. Mildred is one of the people in the made up world that is very mindless. She  always watches her parlor walls and has friends over to just watch with her, they never talk or anything which proves to me that she is very mindless. In our world, technology is getting to the point where we don’t have to leave our houses very much. That is scary because I am afraid that we are going to turn out just like Bradbury predicted. This story is coming true and there is very few things that we can do about it. Speed, entertainment, and mindlessness of people are starting to come true in our world today. It is surprising that Bradbury could make so many predictions so many years ago and have them be so accurate. Overall Ray Bradbury is a very good author that catches the attention of his readers by telling them what things will be like in the future. I certainly hope that all of these negative things that Bradbury predicted will not become any truer as time progresses.

Employee motivation in Apple corpotation

This essay was written on Employee motivation in Apple company. I pointed out couple motivation theories that were developed in order to show people the ways of motivating. First and base theory is Maslow’s hierarchy pyramid then there are Equity theories and Two factor theory. The most popular and efficient motivation theory is goal seeking motivation theory. This theory was made in order to motivate staff to seek new opportunities how to solve a problems or reach their goals. In the second part I introduced the apple company and their motivation standards and behaviour.I applied the rest of theories that i picked for this essay and company. Some motivation strategies were already a part of this company but some were not. As far as some motivations are part of ourselves. How do we react and what do we do to make ourselves better. Apple Inc. is one of the most developing company in human resources and management. In the first part of my essay I would like to point out couple t heories that are often mentioned by many people as a main motivation at work.In second part I will apply theese mentioned theories to an Apple company in order to compare and evaulate the difference of their processing motivation standards and theories of employee and human motivation. Employee motivation is one of the main concernes of corporations theese days because of the main focus of employees on what can employer offer for my hard and efficient work. How do they motivate in order to reach higher standards and profits. What if I create a great added value for the company and they treat me the same without any bonus or raised wage? Same questions but in different ways has our future employer.Company theese days need mature, efficient, motivated and high-performance employees. Since the business has taken place on our planet. Came up a question? How do I motivate people? So now I am going to mention couple theories that are most likely often used by companies to motivate their e mployees. Motivation forces within the individual forces that account for the direction, level, and persistence of a person’s effort expended at work. Direction is the way where you channel your motivation. How do you apply the motivation. Then there is a level of motivation that meassures how much effort someone puts in motivating staff.Motivating persistence is the length of time a person or manager sticks with a given action. How long does it take to reach a goal. Types of motivation theories Content theories Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory Abraham Maslow first inctroduction of his theory took place in 1943 paper „A Theory of Human Motivationâ€Å". There are basically five levels of what humans need. Some are more important than others but basically follows a flow of certain needs that needs to be satisfied first before you can worry about other needs. The Maslow’s theory is often displayed as a Pyramid of needs. The bottom of the pyramid are the pr imary human needs (Psychological) such as breathing, eating, sleeping, drinking water, sexual needs. Second floor of the pyramid also known as secondary needs are safety needs which means security of our body, health, the family or our employment. Third floor is named Love or belonging this floor includes friendship, family and sexual intimacy. Fourth floor of pyramid is called Esteem it covers self esteem, confidence, achievemtn, respect of others. Fifth floor is self actualization, this top of the pyramid is made of morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving.Another theory is Acquired need theory. Need for achievement. The desire to do something better or more efficiently, to solve problems, or to master complex tasks. Need for affiliation. The desire to estamblish and maintain friendly and warm relations with others. Need for power. The desire to control others, to influence their behaviour or to be responsible for others. Two factor theory also known as Herzberg’s mo tivation-hygiene theory and dual-factor theory was developed by Frederick Herzberg in 1959. Herzberg in study of individual needs and motivation developed this theory. The theory identifies two different factors as primary causes of job satisfaction and job dissatisfaction. Hygiene factors Sources of job dissatisfaction that can be found in context of our job or in the work we got set. Job dissatisfaction occurs when hygiene factors are poor. Improving the hygiene factors only decreases job dissatisfaction doesn‘t make profit in sales or financial sphere. Motivator factors Sources of job satisfaction to job content. Presence or absence of satisfiers or motivators in people’s jobs is the key to satisfaction, motivation, and performance. If we want to build more motivator factors in the job content we call it a job enrichment. Equity theory was developed by John Stacey Adams in 1963 this theory means that any percieved inequity becomes a motivating state of mind. Foundation of equity is based on social comparison. People are motivated to behave in ways that restore or maintain equity in situations. Individual outcomes and individual efforts must be equal to other’s outcomes and other’s efforts then equity is in place once the equality comes outbounced then inequity can occur. Equity theory prediction: Felt negative inequityIndividual feels thath he has recieved relatively less than others in proportion to work inputs. Felt positive inequity Individual feels that he has recieved relatively more than others have. Equity restoration behaviours. Reduce work inputs Change the outcomes reciever Leave the situation Change the comparison points Psychologically distort things Try to change the efforts of the comparison person Organizational justice How fairly and equitably people see the practices of their workplace at the time. Every employees motivation is a multiplicative function of valence, expectancy and instrumentality.Goal seeking theory motivation was developed by Edwin A. Locke in the middle of 1960’s. Goal setting The process of developing, negotiating, and formalizing the targets or objectives that a person is responsible for accomplishing. Difficult goals are leading to more efficient and lasting performance than low goals. Specific goals are leading to a slightly raising performance than vague or giving ourselves a general goal. Feedback more likely task feedback is motivating people to produce a higher performance by setting of higher performance and more sophisticated goals.Goals are leading to higher performance when people have the abilities and the feelings of self-efficacy required to accomplish them. Goals are motivating people toward higher performance when they are accepted by the individual, and there is commitment ot them. Management by objectives (MBO) Process of joint goal setting between a supervisor and a subordinate. Firstly I would like to briefly introduce the Apple company and then th eir standards in staff motivation in progress. Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne in 1976 in order to develop and sell PC’s.Steve Jobs died in 2011. He was the main engine of Apple Inc. and he showed them the way they should go in the future. Even though he had a cancer he was a fighter and solver. Apple Inc. and employee motivation and relationships. Apple shows the world its greatness for a period of time now. They are leading electronics market worldwide. And firstly I might want to point out the negative part of suppliers behaviour. Since the supplier’s employees are not an Apple’s employees they dont care about unethical behaviour in their suppliers factories in China or India.Particulary in China-Chenzen there is a supplier of many electronic selling brands called Foxconn. Foxconn employs about 500. 000 employees. And the suicide rate is about 60 employees per year. That is alarming number. But for worldwide leading companies t hat sells electronics it’s just a good business of low cost makeing of their product and high profit by selling it to consumer. This is the main issues of almost every corporation that founds it’s place or cooperates with already existing factories with employee base. While the economy is flowishing they expand to other socialy low parts of China or India.Employees at Foxconn for example are 12 old children that work from 12 to 16 hours a day. So in 2013 Apple Inc. which was making almost 70% of their devices in Foxconn in Chenzen China has made a statement and showed the world their suppliers. Foxconn was mentioned as an problem facility that has to take steps forward to eliminate unethical behaviour. Apple wants his suppliers to set the working hours to 60 hours in 6 days that makes maximum of 10 hours a day. Only 38% of suppliers commited to this. Foxconn wasn’t one of those companies. So that was the negative experience I have with Apple impact on ethical beh aviour of the coutrnies of third world. I studied Apple Inc. since middleschool. I made many eassays and reports about their business and internal functions like staff motivation, appreciation, development. Mainly Apple was built and carried through the rough times by legendary messiah Steve Jobs. Now its Tim Cooks turn to take over the vessel and head for the goals of the number one company in the world. If you look at apples employee motivation culture you can see that the theory of goal seeking took place here as a main push factor. The pull factor was the internal share sale for employees. Employees could buy shares for the lowest price given by apple. They couldn‘t participate on meeting or participate on strategical and main decisions of the headquarters. This is ment as a kind of benefit, bonus, incentive. Apple is mainly working on the management by objectives management and goal seeking theory. They give their employees the feeling of higher good. They give them a purp ose to proceed to better performance. Often in Apple Inc. employees were scared to walk in hall ways because they could meet Steve Jobs. When someone met with him, he always asked couple questions and sometimes he fired someone spontaneously that was called „to get Steveâ€Å". So employees even though they didnt know Steve but only their supervisors were scared of him, because of his changing behaviour. There are many operating teams that are working on the same things without knowing it. Thats the main advantage of motivating them. They solve the problem, but other team solved it in a better way. Their motivation rises because of competition made betweens those teams. They are doing alot of brainstorming with their supervisors even Steve was attending those. That gives employees a chance to present their ideas and even to protest the changes or procedures taking place. If I would implement the equity theory in Apple Inc. I would say that this motivating factor is always hidde n. It’s individual need but most people do care if another person gets a higher bonus for the same work with better effort or performance. So it’s highly motivating and won’t affect the other methods of motivation. Maslow’s needs theory is already in everybody. Every person has his needs. We have the same primary needs like sleeping, eating and drinking. But others have higher goals to improve themselves for themselves and their environs. This is also very individual basic employee has different needs than a manager or owner. Another theory that i mentioned in the first part of my eassay was goal seeking motivation theory that is already in text above. Apple Inc. esxists on this type of motivation since it was developed. Even though Steve Jobs died. And the last theory mentioned is Herzbergs two factor theory based on measuring the satisfaction or dissatisfaction of employee in their workplace also know as motivator-hygiene theory.I would like to say somet hing negative about apple’s motivation procedures but I can’t because it is just brilliant. The two factor is also part of the company management. Apple Inc. is recruiting only the best of best and they benefit those people and take care of them. Those people don’t need to change employers or sell the information to media. They are satisfied and often they are strongly commited to the company. Apple is like a big happy family that profits out of its shares and company salaries.Apple Inc.  is strong company that has strict rules and motivates their staff to improve their skills and inovative thinking. They grow their own profesionals in electronics and management. Apple deserves the main position on worldwide market of electronics. They have the best design and marketing in the world. They employ thousands of people all over the world. The key strategy of Apple was always to maintain on path that Steve Jobs showed them. I hope that in the future Apple will set a standard even for their suppliers of how to behave to their employees in ethical and fair way that should be human being treated. Figure 1. 1 Employee Motivation in Apple Corpotation AbstractThis essay was written on Employee motivation in Apple company. I would say that this motivating factor is always hidden. Ità ¢â‚¬â„¢s individual need but most people do care if another person gets a higher bonus for the same work with better effort or performance. Another theory that i mentioned in the first part of my eassay was goal seeking motivation theory that is already in text above.Apple Inc. esxists on this type of motivation since it was developed. Even though Steve Jobs died. And the last theory mentioned is Herzbergs two factor theory based on measuring the satisfaction or dissatisfaction of employee in their workplace also know as motivator-hygiene theory.I would like to say something neg ative about apple’s motivation procedures but I can’t because it is just brilliant. The two factor is also part of the company management. Apple Inc. is recruiting only the best of best and they benefit those people and take care of them. Those people don’t need to change employers or sell the information to media. They are satisfied and often they are strongly commited to the company. Apple is like a big happy family that profits out of its shares and company salaries. Apple Inc. is strong company that has strict rules and motivates their staff to improve their skills and inovative thinking. They grow their own profesionals in electronics and management. Apple deserves the main position on worldwide market of electronics. They have the best design and marketing in the world. They employ thousands of people all over the world. The key strategy of Apple was always to maintain on path that Steve Jobs showed them. I hope that in the future Apple will set a standard ev en for their suppliers of how to behave to their employees in ethical and fair way that should be human being treated.
